Nothing From Me

Halloween = fun. Some good costumes, some lame ones, some people just too cool for school and blew off Halloween altogether. How could you not like Halloween? This is the day when you can either let your freak flag fly, or in my case and those like me, your nerd flag. This year I dressed up like an infomercial guy for the second straight year, going as Fitness Celebrity John Basedow. To be honest, I didn't pull it off quite as well as last year's Matthew Lesko costume, but I liked it nonetheless.

Anyway, it's been a weird 20 hours or so, with incredibly bad and tragic news unfortunately trumping the good. And with work piled up on top of that, Ace is unable to write a coherent post at this time. In lieu of anything from me, here are two pretty interesting things to focus your attention on:

1. **THIS IS AWESOME** This paper was turned in by an Oakland High school student who received the highest honors at the school district’s Ebonics translation competition.

Assignment: Please translate the following Rap song lyrics from Ebonics to standard English.
Artist: Notorious B.I.G.
Album: Ready to Die
Song: One more chance (remix)

2. "After an intensive two weeks of solo work, writing lyrics and music for his next album, Trey took a break and spent the better part of the following week recording with jazz legend Herbie Hancock cutting a track for his upcoming album. The session also included John Patitucci (bass), Steve Jordan (drums), Cyro Baptista (percussion) and Jennifer Hartswick (trumpet, vocals)."

Trey and Herbie, check it out right here! There are three jams up to check out, and they're all super sweet.

Ooooh, that's a good one...I'd go with "Love Bug Fingerbase-Penis" on that one.

I just need your John Hancock right there...He, it's Herbie Hancock.
