Two Patriotic Birthdays

To the United States of America:

"Okay guys, one more thing, this summer when you're being inundated with all this...Fourth of July brouhaha, don't forget what you're celebrating, and that's the fact that a bunch of slave-owning, aristocratic, white males didn't want to pay their taxes."

To George Steinbrenner:

"I must say, with all due respect, I find it very hard to see the logic behind some of the moves you have made with this fine organization. In the past twenty years you have caused myself, and the city of New York, a good deal of distress, as we have watched you take our beloved Yankees and reduced them to a laughing stock, all for the glorification of your massive ego!"

Speaking as an ex-patriot Brit, that comment about the true nature of the "holiday" cracked me up. Carry on.

Being a Seinfeld fan, I recognize the Steinbrenner message. Still appropriate though.

I've always had this fantasy about meeting Big Stein and giving him the Frank Coastanza treatment: "What the hell did you trade Jay Buhner for?!"
