I Am

In response to this morning's earlier post, "Who's a Cats Fan?", I made the extemperaneous decision to fly back to Chicago/Evanston for this weekend's early-evening game against Michigan. Get Ryan Field at Dyche Stadium ready, the alumni are returning.

So mortgage the farm and bet everything you have on Red Cowboy's Wolverines this weekend, because I have not once but twice jinxed the Wildcats for this week's game and the rest of the season. First I wrote a glowing post, then I booked a last-minute flight to E-Town. This just cannot end well. Reverse jinx, anyone?

On an unrelated note, check out this pretty funny video of some Chinese kids singing pop tunes in Rockets jerseys (and my favorite part, check out the kid in the back who doesn't even move from his computer the whole time).

Hope you enjoy your stay in our fine city, Ace. Or at least that suburb of our fine city that Northwestern students refer to as "Chicago" when they want to sound cool.

No shit, it's like Evanston is the rich-man's Chicago. It really is, though.

Uhm, so are we going to get to meet up and eat pancakes together?

I forgot to mention, Red Cowboy is a fancyboy Michigan graduate...so family pride is at stake here. Go Cats.

Thanks, MDS, I'll try. Nay, I will.

Justin, I won't have much time, but I'll call you this week to discuss when we can meet up. I'm thinking 4 am at Weiner's Circle.

That video is priceless. Long live communism.

i don't trust michigan ever since they rejected my nephew's college admissions application.

he got accepted to/graduated from MIT instead. and he still has the UM rejection letter.

Sweet, dude, have a good time. I think I'm heading up there the weekend after.

Michigan has that habit of rejecting people it doesn't think will actually go there...doesn't make much sense, but it seems to be working for them.

You gonna go to the Iowa game, Samurai? Man, this is weird, I haven't been back to NU's campus since February 2003.

D'oh! The Cowboy visits my town and I'll be in Minnesota, freezing and not drinking on Sunday.

Have a good time at the game. And at the Weiner's Circle at 4 in the morning. That's the sign of a successful evening.

michigan also does rolling admissions, so if people apply late in the year, they often get rejected even if very qualified

Ace, that makes 2 Wildcats (roar) whose brothers graduated from Meeesheegin. It's kind of a nice position to be in, as a NU win is cause for a huge ribbing, while a loss is simply a shrug of the shoulders. I suppose your bro now owes me a flaming turd on my doorstep or something along those lines. I'll see you in Heavanston on Saturday. Party at The Keg after the game. Bring yo ghat.

Sounds good Lister, meet you at the Fish Keg. Bring your tartar sauce, yo.
