The Return of iD1G1T

Much like your Uncle Buddy, iD1G1T is baaaaack. Do it.

(If you've stumbled upon this here rag looking for the magical world of iD1G1T, you're in good company. We're all wondering where this site went, and why it left us in the dark with a cold plate of vittles.

Regardless, while you're here, feel free to poke around Slack LaLane for some quasi-entertainment and oft-disappointment. We don't bite, and sometimes we'll make you laugh like a bastard.)

So it is Jan 18, and the web page is gone. Where did it go??!!!

At 7:48 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Seriously....what happened?!?

At 3:46 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yeah, I'd like to know where the hell it went to also! I was all geared up to listen to a few songs as well here about three nights ago and it's completely dissappeared! If somebody knows what happened, and or if there's any plans for it to be back online anytime soon...by all means do let us know.

Yes i would really like to know as well please!

Found a cool streaming website.

http://www.investorshub.com/boards/Board.asp?Board_ID=2584

You may have to use view source to get url but its all there.

I posted a comment here about three posts back (3:46 AM to be precise). There are two different websites that I go to when iD1G1T isn't working, and to be honest they are equally as good as iD1G1T if you ask me! Though, be aware that they don't have near the varied selection or even close to the same amount of albums, but just about every song works and is accompanied by pretty decent sound. So go ahead and check 'em out folks...here are the adresses:

http://xsao.net/

http://cdzinc.com/cdzinc.html

Oh, and if you've never been to either one before it should also be noted that they each require the latest version (or if not that any one from at least year 2002 and up should work) of Real Audio, or rather Real One, to work anymore as they're all in that format.

At 2:37 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Also might try:

http://www.musixzone.com/index.php

Lots of Albums and the quality of the streaming is much better that ID1G1T and CDZinc. Not as many albums, but try the request feature. In a few days, the album you requested will be streamable.

This site is using aol videos. It won't last.

i guess i'm not the only one who's missing iD1G1T. I remember it had links to other sites for mp3 in there before the site disappeared. Do any one of you remember the links that iD1G1T had within the site?

At 5:09 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

We need some news.

Everyone is missing iD1G1T

At 1:48 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

hmm that is, ony based on one type of genre really and iD1G1T is based on any kind and could also send requests for you to be able to stream.

I would say second best is musixzone tho.

At 2:28 PM, Blogger Ace Cowboy said...

Yeah, we're all angry...but then again, this site was providing a free service that probably broke the law. So, um, let's keep it all in perspective.

At the same time, bring back iD1G1T, you goddamn twits...

At 3:01 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

SITE NOW HAS FULL ALBUM FEATURE. CHECK IT OUT TELL A FRIEND. I was able to upload a full album.

This team looks good lot of streaming audio here folks.

I'm sure that just about anyone out there who's missing iD1G1T has probably already read this article, but if you haven't here it is:

http://stupidquestion.net/

Don't know if it was this ass that caused iD1G1T to dissapear so suddenly without notice...I kind-of doubt it to be quite honest here. However, it seems funny to me that this guy almost show's some slight remorse over what he's done. I guess we'll never know for certain, but it's certainly something to chew on if you ask me.

Regarding comment #21, the Investorshub.com web site does provide a lot of good tunes, but the quality isn't very good, at least when I listen to them.

At 7:40 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well, as of right now it looks like good ole' iD1G1T might very well be on it's way back up I'm happy to report!!! Albeit it's under a different web adress/accompanying e-mail but if you head on over and Google it you'll see that it's still being called iD1G1T. It appears in all honesty that the site might have disappeared in the first place due to server problems or something more technical, as opposed to legal. Of course I could be wrong about all of this I suppose since it seems that the site isn't quite fully up and running but it looks like to me that all of us iD1G1T-heads might just get our one sweet fix of all that it has to offer in possibly a weeks time, or even a little less.

Here's the new site (as of right now anyway) to all those who are too lazy to go search it up at Google:

hi! cdzinc.com wma is back but I cannot get it to work so far.... will somebody else try and then leave a comment here so we can tell if it is the site or just me...thanks!

At 8:22 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Cdzinc-now-merged-with-iD1G1T is back, well, sort-of! It's kind of a complicated process and a real bastard to get to the actual music if you ask me, or so I'm finding out. But again, yeah, it is ideed there folks in all it's free-streaming-music glory complete with more artists/songs than you can count...so enjoy : )

Here's the adress as of right now:

http://thumbtak.50webs.com/Streaming_Music_1.html

Just follow the WMA link there.

At 8:33 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Oh shit! Well, I was the one who created the one post before this one with the link and damn it anyway, it just isn't working!!! Sorry folks but this stuff is a process I reckon and it's going to take some time to get going properly again. I found this out of course by going back and rereading my post and checking to see if it actually worked...after I posted the comment no less! It would've been much smarter of me to have tried it out in the first place huh? Well, besides my aformentioned dumbass mistake I'm pretty sure that this whole music business will eventually get itself back on the right track and like anyone can at this site I'll try and add the right (working) link here once I'm sure things are in tip-top shape again.

At 11:54 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

At 5:59 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

No offense here man but that "investorshub..." link sucks, big time!!! You can't stop the music, search songs or quite frankly do anything else to even equal what iD1G1T or Cdzinc had going! And besides somebody already posted it in a previous post up above anyhow...

At 2:23 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

.....and, at least for me, the quality for the music on "investorshub" is pretty poor for most tunes.

At 12:54 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

According to Cdzinc:

http://cdzinc.com/cdzinc.html

It's supposed to be getting a new section added to it (or so it says) here in the next few days, and or weeks...it quite possibly might be that whole pseudo-cdzinc-meets-id1g1t situation that we saw on there for about a week or so ago! Here's to hoping I'm right, eh?!

At 1:49 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

A previous post ask about how to play cdzinc.com. The only way I found that works is that I need to disable my firewall (I use Norton). When I click on "PLAY", it asks me if I want to save, which I do (legal?) to a folder on my HD. This takes about 2-3 seconds. I than able my firewall. I open that saved file with Real Player (others might work) and I can listen to the album.

At 6:52 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

All I can say is a kooshball nearly flew out of my chest when I heard this one folks! XSAO.NET IS REPORTEDLY SHUTTING DOWN!!! Yep, unfortunately you read that right, the moderators at that site are, according to them, thinking about calling it quits for good as they've had some problems here of late with the sources that they get their music from. About a week ago they were forced to pull all their real audio stuff, and now it looks like what little they have left there, i.e. the small amount of WMA music, is going along with it! I don't know about anyone else but this shit really pisses me off! First it was iD1G1T, now Xsao.net, with the latter being/have been one of the most reliable free music sites on the web in the last few years, even though this past winter some unforseen things have caused them to have a drastically dwindling amount of music files I still enjoyed what was there regardless! And to make matters so much worse Cdz.inc's music has also gone kapoots(sp?) for no utter reasons whatsoever in the last week and a half or so! The guy that at present moderatates/owns that aforementioned site has been leading us on for at least three weeks now that he was going to get a new section and so on and so forth, but we have seen next to no signs of that guy keeping that promise that he has so prominently plastered on the front of his site. Though he has for some retarded reason put a message at the top of the screen that says something to the effect that his site is THE place to go for the BEST MUSIC SEARCH ENGINE online, and all I can say to that is, pfffffffttttttt....yeah right! You could maybe call your site that if you ever bother to actually fix it so it can get up and running again, DUMBASS!!! Whew, I need to cool down for a minute. Anyhow, I'm sorry to come on here and vent my frustrations over this stuff because like Ace Cowboy said in a post above we need to keep things in perspective after all, 'cause admittedly those sites do/did provide a free service that us moochers (like myself when it comes to free stuff online) thanklessly took without asking, however, I've still just gotta say that since XSAO is more than likely going to be officially dead in the next few days I think that the guy that runs---or rather is not running would be more fitting don't you think?---Cdzinc should just decide to pull the plug on it altogether also and just take the site down from off the internet completely if he doesn't want to hurry up and put up his so-called "new section" on there instead of leaving it hanging (for those of us that are dedicated visitors to the site no less) as not only a sad distant memory to what was but to also seethe at as well because we know that it is no longer working anymore! There I'm finished with my tangent-cum-rant-cum-sad-realization over the state of two of my favorite free music sites since the fantabulous (did I just create a new word?) id1g1t abandoned us for good this past January...feel free to flame me folks for this post, it's all anonymous anyway.

At 12:38 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well.. so much for nothing. From what i hear id1g1t got scre*ed on the domain front. Most likely it will be back in a month. For now the id1g1t engine has been adapted on cdzinc's site. (strangely this news was on the site for just one day). Hope this settles a few souls.

At 2:40 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well, here we are again nearly a week to the day---as of this writing it is early Thursday morning, 1:16 a.m. central time to be precise, on the 20th of April---after Cdzinc opened shop with it's would-be concise id1g1t-styled search engine (that featured most, though not all mind you, of the same artists that the late id1g1t site once had) and it is no longer working anymore! Yep, you read that correctly, not working at all! I don't know whether to be pissed off, dissapointed, maybe both or what exactly! Frankly, I'm getting tired of waiting for that guy who runs Cdzinc to get his shit together, either he's got a music website that's open and will remain opened to the public or he doesn't, and at the present it doesn't look too promising! All I can say here is that he better be damn glad his site is free because from now on out he has lost a formerly loyal returning customer...ME...for good now!!! I hate to say it but I think I'm going to break over and go to one of the 30 million or so music sites out there (hello Napster, you guys still up and running?) that charge people for their burning of songs and entire cds and such! I am indeed willing to pay a small fortune just to have my tunes back! That is how aggrivated I am at this whole cdzinc/id1g1t business, and honestly here I suggest that others do likewise as the afomentioned Cdzinc/id1g1t seems to not be working for shit anymore and to be frank it's not worth wasting one's time waiting for it to return...I apologize profusely for my rant here, it's probably obvious that I'm completely off my nut, but I don't care no one on here knows me personally anyhow.

At 5:52 AM, Blogger WestVirginiaRebel said...

Well...as of today (April 22, 2006) the entire damn site seems to be gone without a trace...the WMA search engine was there on Wednesday (or was it Thursday?) then poff it went away...seriously, if it's the fault of the guy's hosting company then he needs to change services or do SOMETHING and get his act together.

As for Napster yes they are still alive and kicking; I would like to find a service where you can be billed without having to use a credit card.

At 6:34 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yeah, I too decided to check out cdzinc about three or four hours ago since they've reportedly gotten their id1g1t-type of search engine on there now, but alas Cdzinc is gone, disappeared, finito(sp?)! I hope that the guy who runs that site brings it back soon, or in the very least brings back that whole id1g1t search engine because though it may not have been perfect I still enjoyed cruising over there to listen to a favorite song now and then. Honetly though, to be a little pessimistic here I have my doubts that either site will ever come back, unfortunately...that's a shame, a real shame if you ask me.

Whoever posted that "http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=10127495" link, thanks! Those guys are dope! The sound quality sounds good to me. I found lots of songs I haven't seen anywhere else. Cool shit.

At 4:40 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I'm sorry to say this but that site, and the songs/cds that it has, are not, I repeat, NOT "cool"! If all of you like it and are enjoying it fine, to each his/her own, but it can't even touch what id1g1t had going in terms of selection if you want my opinion! So speak for yourselves when it comes to saying that that site is cool shit or whatever, 'cause I just don't happen to agree with you!

At 5:34 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

That's right, to each his own. id1g1t doesn't have shit right now, so what does that leave. Nothing, that's what. Dude, wtf do you like, or listen to? They play every thing. What do you care if others like it or not anyways. If you don't, you dont. BFD

At 8:01 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I just went to that Cdzinc link. I don't know but, those investor people seem to have more singles IMO. A far better selection too, like it or not.

At 4:05 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

This is funny as all hell...no activity to amount to anything for weeks on end, and then suddenly someone comes on here, says something that others don't like too well, and then presto, everybody starts posting! Hilarious shit! Oh, and by the way that investorshub does pretty much suck whether anybody wants to admit to it or not! Cdzinc also sucks right now too, as nothing, and I do mean nothing on there works at this moment! Id1g1t, whether it ever comes back or not which from the looks of things isn't too likely anytime soon, was and will always remain to be the best online music site since xsao.net and all the others virtually closed up shop last fall with their primo selection in free music. And again I agree with the poster up above who thought that the investorshub site was crap, and if you're that desperate for free music that you're willing to put up with their shit selection then I truly pity you...let the fighting continue!!!

another one. Looks like the ol' id1g1t.

http://www.leantop.com

At 9:52 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Personally, I'm a bit leery of signing up to that leantop.com site. Even though the registration is free, I can't help but wonder if the site is worth registering to! Meaning what kind of selection do they have (the site says it allows you to search by genre)? Is it a big selection? And I assume the sound quality is pretty good? Is this a file sharing site etc? I've been going to these free music sites for years (i.e. XSAO.net, cdzin.com --both when they were still decent--, and now Streamstash.com which is excellent by the way), but I've never wanted to go to any that had you register or sign up to them because it seems like a scam or file sharing crap which I hate, obviously! Anywho, I didn't mean to whine and piss and moan here or anything so I apoligize if I come across that way, but seriously how good is this site and really would anybody on here be willing to tell me if it's worth signing up to or if it's just a waste of time. If anybody could help me out here I'd be really appreciative. Thanks.

At 5:42 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Not missing much streamstash and leantop is the same music engine.

At 9:37 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hey thanks "5:42 PM"! I had a feeling of that but didn't know for sure, at least it isn't a file-sharing thing though. Thankfully I didn't sign up to "leantop" because there really wouldn't have been much point right? Since both it and "Streamstash" are the same site; at least with that site we don't have to sign up to anything to enjoy the music that's there (what little of it there is I mean).

At 1:03 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yuppers, they are both the same music engine.

Streamstash had it first after 2720. net, copyrighted by id1g1t, abandoned it, saying it was "up for grabs". Then Leantop, who I think is still another off-shoot of id1g1t, tried to take it back.

id1g1t's former owner has a thing for what he calls 'security' and that's why you have to register at Leantop. He requires you to register so he can get your isp. That gives him control on who has access to Leantop, among other things.

I would definitely go with Streamstash.

At 1:33 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Personnelly, i tried Streamstash a couple of time and the play back is not in stereo. Therefore don't use it anymore. Found this true when I signed up for the free Napster. They told me I wanted to listen to stereo quality, I had to pay monthly fee.

At 1:38 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hmmm, Streamstash songs I just played say they're being played in "stereo 1-pass CBR"

At 1:48 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yes, mine says the same thing, but the play back is definitely not in stereo.

At 2:19 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I beg to differ in that honestly here I can put up with the music on Streamstash not being exactly perfect, I mean it's free after all (unlike Napster where you have to pay a small fortune) so as the old saying goes "beggers can't be choosers" I guess...or at least that's my philospy anyhow when it comes to the quality of the music at free sites like "Streamstash". I guess it all depends on personal opinion though, some of you guys would rather pay a high price to have good sound quality then being satisfied with just mediocre-to-fair quality which is ok I suppose. Though I still suggest that people at least check out "Streamstash" nonetheless as I think things (i.e. the music quality) will get better over time, kind of like what's happened with XSAO.net over the past few months, it has in fact gotten a lot better in sound quality if you ask me in comparison to the way it used to be not so long ago.

At 10:50 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well 2:19 am, you are exactly correct; "beggars can't be chosing". But for my type of music, I am able to listen for free at other web sites to my type of music and it is nice stereo sound, cd quality music. And therefore I do not have to use Streamstash. Though Streamstash has decent quality music, I have a good sound system connect to my computer and like to hear my music in stereo. Streamstash does not apparently offer this. You mention paying lots of money for such web sites as Napster. They do have a free version, but the music is again not in stereo unless you do pay lots of money. Not me, when there are free sites still available.

At 11:13 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Another site to check out for streaming music is www.thumbtak.tk

At 7:03 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

That Thumbtak.tk site is Streamstash!!! Same exact songs and everything! That guy who runs Thumbtak.tk just linked (or whatever it's called) to the Streamstash site making it look as if it were a different site. So yeah, "Thumbtak.tk." is not a site to go to, just skip it and go to "Streamstash.com", "XSAO.net" or "Cdzinc" instead. The latter is in fact back up and running (sorta) again, though his selection isn't exactly what it once was as we're all quite aware. However, it's still not that bad either mind you : )

At 10:50 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Um, yeah, ok, a couple of things I'd like to say to "10:57 p.m.", and "4:10 p.m." (assuming you're two different people). First that boo-net you suggested is seriously misleading man! Yeah at first glance it looks like an awesome site, particularly for classic rock fans which I am, since it has great sound and a sharp look to the site itself. However, the site is one of those wherein they are able to (I'm not really sure how, maybe through your computers cookies possibly) backtrack you and seriously fuck up your computer, or at least it did mine...I had to dump my computers cookies and everything because of it! And to "4:10 p.m." thanks for the link man : ) I didn't initially trust that leantop but since they are now making it seem like you don't have to sign up to it and such it may really be like the good ole' id1g1t again, I'll keep checking back to that site for updates. sorry to hear about your probelms but I guarantee you boo-net.com didn't cause it. I and many others have used the site for years and have never had any such problems.

At 1:32 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

you are dead wrong about boo-net causing your computer troubles..the site is one of the cleanest I've ever seen, and you are wrong for spreading those kind of rumors.

At 2:21 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

It's not a rumour in the slightest bit! I've also had problems with the site like the poster up above, and it is indeed the fault of the BOO-net site! I personally have never had those type of problems until I went to that site. If you guys aren't having any problems then fine, but the site is far from perfect and it's not worth my time anymore!

At 12:15 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I have no problem playing leantop. I do have to temp. shut off Norton to get it to load. Disappointed that the albums they post do not include all the tracks.

At 3:11 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I have the same problem with leantop...but investorshub is okay. I just miss id1g1t cause of the selection. They had a great selection of dub and reggae from Marcia Griffiths to Jackie Mitoo...much of what I can't find to match it on any other website. Most of these sites have other music...and not what I'm really looking for.

Have you tried this new addition :

I'm posting this comment at 10:35 a.m. on Tuesday January 2, 07 and leantop as of this moment is really, um, fucked up for want of a better word and has been since about Saturday night early Sunday morning! I usually don't have any beef with these free music sites since they are free after all but this time something has really gone haywire with Leantop as no song at that site is playing right now and as I've just said hasn't been in the last couple or three days! I hope the webmaster will get back on task and fix it, considering he went to all the trouble of updating and turning it into one of those would-be easier to look info up beta sites. Ok, I'm done rambling, but seriously that site has a real bug in it right now, and maybe by posting it here there will be enough people besides myself that might actually email the guy about the fact that he needs to fix whatever is causing the music NOT to play.

At 2:37 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Ok, um, I was the person who typed up that last comment and maybe I was a little hasty in doing so as quite possibly not everyone is experiencing the same problems that I am in playing the music off of leantop.com. I only posted, and granted that said post read more like a pointless jumbled up rant which I apologize for, because I thought it was really bizarre that all of a sudden absolutely every single song and artist that I had been listening to for several weeks prior just out of the blue quite playing and I got this message that I usually get when a link or something is broken. And, yes, at that site I am aware that a number of the links are broken and apparently the sites administraitors(sp?) aren't able to fix them but for some reason every single song of virtually every single artist in both 32k, 64k, 128k and so on just won't play. I contacted the administrators of the site to see what the hell was going on and they couldn't seem to figure it out either as they were able to play stuff just fine as I'm assuming most other visitors at the site are able to do likewise. I really don't think it's my computer though as I have absolutely NO trouble in playing the music (which requires the same player as leantop does) from almost every other free music site out there! I just can't explain it and I'm not sure anyone else could either, though if any of you reading this might have an explanation that I have yet to think of or anything else (no hatefull replys please) I'd appreciate someone, anyone, posting here at this site. The whole situation kind of blows really as leantop may not have been perfect but up until about a week or so ago I really appreciated their rather large selection which was of course free that for a time seemed to work just fine : (

I use MusicGalore.net and like that the best. They have way more songs than leantop and the provide you with the code if you want to put the song directly onto your site.

Try it out guy above me and tell me if that site works for you.

At 10:30 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hey, thank you so very much there "January 13th, 2007 9:38AM EST" : ) (I was the guy with the problem playing stuff off of leantop.) I didn't even know that site existed until you posted the link here and you're right, they do have a better selection -- and good sound quality to boot -- than leantop.com has! The only slight problem that I have with it is that the music player doesn't come up in it's own little window which then allows you to listen to the music and surf through the internet at the same time like leantop and a few others do as well, which is a bit of a bummer. But hey, I can live still live with it and I'll take just about anything at this moment! So again, thanks man so much man for that link I think I'll be using that site for quite a while now for my free music needs : )

At 9:22 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

All these free music sites use the same sources for their music, so please don't say one sounds any better than the other...it is not true.

At 8:46 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hey does anybody know if Musicgalore.net takes requests or not? Most of these free music sites do, and they stipulate as much on their sites, but I have yet to see if Musicgalore.net does or not as they don't have it written anywhere saying that they do or don't. I would certainly appreciate some feedback on this. Thanks : )

At 4:34 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

yes if its avaiable musicgalore.net will add it. Keep checking back they are in the process of adding over 1 million songs to their site, you can see so for yourself, they are up to like 760k.

I know many of you guys like that "investorshub/wanttoberich" stuff, and I'm glad it's working for you but I personally can't get much of it to work right on my computer as of this moment *sigh* : ( The music video links work pretty well there though, however, I've never been much for the vast majority of music videos and prefer just the songs myself. And no it's not because I'm some old fuddy-duddy or anything struggling to come into the 21st century, I'm only 21 years old to get a little personal here. But I digress. I wish that some of these free online sites like Cdzinc, Xsao Music Site, Streamstash, Music-Galore.net and particularly Leantop were fully working again, sadly though most of them quit working (I can, however, get a song to play now and then, but it's kind of a come-and-go type of thing) a little over a week ago when the 32k server and 128k source servers that (apparently) all of those aforementioned sites get their music from went down, and they don't look to be coming back up again anytime soon *double sigh* : ( I know a lot of people hate these sites I just mentioned with a passion for various reasons, and I'm really sorry that some of you do, but they were okay for me though, 'cause I could actually get those site's and their music to play on my computer for free no less! I apologize if I sound like I'm just pissing and moaning on deaf ears but I would sure appreciate it if anybody knew of another free music site out there, besides the "investorshub/wanttoberich" links, and also that doesn't get their music from the same source as Xsao.net, Streamstash, Leantop, Cdzinc, Musicgalore, etc. I know that's going to be darn near impossible for anyone to find one that isn't already one of those that I mentioned up above. Again, if anybody might know of even one I'd sure appreciate them posting the link here. Thanks : )

lol nice comeback.

At 8:19 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I was the one who posted the lengthy post a few posts back who couldn't get the "investorshub/wanttoberich" stuff to work, and I'll admit that 128k sound (which I guess is what the site offers, according to what many of you have said) is better than 64k sound. Way, way, better! However, I still can't get anything at the "investorshub/wanttoberich" site to start working (128k sound quality or not) and I waited ten long minutes for a couple of their songs to start playing like some of you guys suggested that I try and they just never did sadly enough. So while 64k sound may be crappy in comparison to 128k it's frankly all I can find from these free music sites that'll play on my computer right now. I still don't know why the "investorshub/wanttoberich" music won't play, but they won't. Maybe I don't have the latest updated player on my computer or something? Is the music that they offer at that "investorshub/wanttoberich" site set up for a "Windows Media Player" or is it something else? 'Cause at present those are the only two players I have installed, downloaded or whatever the right terminology is on my computer.

At 3:11 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

All these free streaming sites get their music streams from the same source. All of the 32 and 128 kbps (in a wma format) source has been deleted (moved). The 64k streams are the only steaming music albums available, being it is from a completely different source.
There is an old source for 32k albums which can be accessed only in random playlist format.
...so really, the only source for full streaming albums (in wma format)is the 64k one.
Anyone who says otherwise is mistaken.

At 7:59 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Na homey give it time..Yes their source was AOL Music, And it stopped working because aol merged with napster. Just give it time, i guarentee they will have a new source or workaround to get music again. Either that or they will find a way into napster. I know one of the sites is working on a combonation of napster/project playlist. Just cant tell you which one

At 11:17 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I hope you're right 7:59 p.m. 'cause I can't get that investors hub stuff to work either and I really appreciated some of those free streaming music sites like Leantop, Streamstash etc.

At 11:00 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well, it looks like Leantop is finally closing it's doors...sort-of.

http://www.leantop.com/

For anyone who hasn't stopped by the site yet, the guy who runs it has left a message to the effect that he's going to call it quits on the site for the time being, but if things go well in the future he may bring it back up, and personally I really hope he does because I rather liked Leantop myself! I know some have hated it but it worked well for me and the fact that it was totally free was the cherry on top. *Sigh* At least he appears to have kept the 64k audio section, and while it ain't the best quality sound in the world, it's still better than nothng I guess. Since all of the other free streaming music sites like Xsao.net, MusicGalore.net and Cdzinc have also lost their sources, I wish that they too would add some new news to their site, similar to what the guy at Leantop did, so that they let their visitors know what to look (or don't look) forward to in the future as their music, as I just mentioned, also doesn't work. I personally think it would be just plain common courtesy on their parts as they make it look like their stuff still plays but doesn't! Or at least it won't on my computer anyhow!

I don't know how many people have checked Leantop recently, but for those who enjoyed/enjoy it the administrator or whatever has just in the last day or two left an interesting bit of news for us his visitors:

Note : "I have decided to continue the site. Server #1 is what shall be populated with more content in the upcoming days.
Newer sections are expected. Stay Tuned"

I know that it doesn't seem like much but for those who can't get that "investorshub/wanttoberich" site to work, like myself for instance, that gives us a little hope that maybe, just maybe the site might actually very gradually return to the glory that it once was in the next few weeks : )

I have not had a problem with wantoberich.net music is working for me. If leantop is so great why does it not have any AC/DC?

http://www.wantoberich.net/video/ACDC/thunder

Now if you can't hear a utube video then your computer is messed up. Sounds to me like a ego problem.

At 8:42 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

"I have not had a problem with wantoberich.net music is working for me. If leantop is so great why does it not have any AC/DC?"

I was the one who typed the post right above the previous one, and as far as Leantop being a "great" site that all boils down to a difference in opinion I guess. I personally don't care too much for AC/DC, but obviously you do and that's fine, to each his or her own as far as what kind of music one likes. Though I'll admit that now there's not much to choose from in the way of a selection at Leantop and the sound could definitely be a lot better, but to me personally it was pretty good at one time. However, others may feel different and they're entitled to feel that way if they want to, I don't have a problem with it all.

"Now if you can't hear a utube video then your computer is messed up."

Actually, I can hear and see the youtube videos from that site just fine...that's the strange thing about the "investorshub/wanttoberich" site music. I can watch and listen to the videos without any problem but the individual songs minus the music videos, but for some weird reason I just can't hear them on my computer. And no, as far as I know my computer as a whole works the way it should as I've just said the youtube videos work as they're supposed to for me.

"Sounds to me like a ego problem."

Are you calling me personally an egotist? I believe that's the wrong term my friend if that's what you're in reference to. If anything the first statement that you made about "AC/DC being great" is closer to being egotistical than what I've previously said. Me having a legitimite technical computer problem when it comes to getting music at that site to play has nothing to do with my "ego" at all. I don't know why it won't play but it won't. I'm wondering if I don't have to have one of those premium accounts to get it to play or not. Is that how everyone else is getting the music from that site to play or does it just automatically do so without any membership to the site or something?

I can't wait to see the wantoberich spammer eat his words about ac/dc when leantop.com adds a bunch of them in it's next update (as they've said they would).

Let me the first to second 8:42 PM comments.

I don't carry much for AC/DC either, but each his own. Leantop was the best for my type of music (before it died). Now that it is trying to limp back, it is better than nothing. Hope he, she, they are able to rebuild their library.

I found that for wantoberich the newer song posts work but when I worked by way back to older posts it would not play for me either.

Give it up, dude! All you've been posting is YouTube video's from that wantoberich site.

Does he think no one else can get them? I mean, what's the point of that?

ANYONE can get almost ANY song video from YouTube, they even give you the url to use if you want to post it somewhere else.

Plus, there are dozens of other sites to get free videos, including some of the artist's own websites.

Yes...game over!

At 2:09 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

"At 1:37 AM"

64k search? Try 320k and on down, even videos before YouTube caught on!

All you had to do was type in the artist or song you wanted, and it would give you a LIST of SOURCES to get it from, it "snagged" songs from other sources.

The Sonicsnagger I remember was THE best search engine out there for a while. It was free for EVERYONE to use, until wantoberich bought it and tried to use it as his own personal, private search engine.

That was the end of Sonicsnagger!

At 1:20 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

The above post does not make sense at all. Sonicsnagger was a web site that used a script that illegally hacked into akami.com which hosted mtv and vh1 music files. Russ the owner of the site sonicsnagger sold the script to other music sites as well. What akami did was send a white bullet and change the security features every couple of months. Us music webmaster would just reset the code. Akami got smarter and upgraded their security features that the code would change in minutes and blocked the script that other music sites were using such as Music Galore Xsao CDZlimited and Id1g1t Joe Music box. I don't know about wantoberich and I don't care. But these above music sites were using a script mention above openly for the whole world to see. What busted them were the people that used the urls that were embedded in myspace and xanga. All akami had to do was follow the trail and that is why all the free music sites where shut down. That is the story in a nutshell.

I wish that site were as good as it looks. True he did bring it back and everything, but for some reason I can't get anything on there to play. It's a real bummer really 'cause I was looking forward to it coming back and being like it once was. I don't know if you have to have a different player than the windows media one or not, because at the moment nothing plays, I mean not a song...at least it doesn't for me anyhow, and I'm telling the truth here I'm not just making things up to be bitching or spreading gossip so I apologize if I seem to be raining on everyone's parade with this post. I really would like to listen to some of those songs so if anyone could tell me if it supposedly requires a different player or something than what it used to be I'd be very appreciative. Thanks.

I agree with the previous two people, I can't get a damned thing to work at that site for some reason, and I have that adobe flash thing installed on my computer too that the administrators at that site tell people that you have to have and yet nothing will play, not a single song! And myself and the previous two people are not the only ones having the same problem with the music at that site...check out the forums there, a lot of people are complaining to the guys that run it that nothing is working, but they seem to be in complete denial over it! It's a little sad to tell you the truth, that virtually no one (besides the guys who run it) can play the songs there and if they can they sure haven't spoken up about it yet!

At 1:03 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

well here is the thing about musicgalore,
they are of course stealing from another site, but what is weird they are even using the sites search and java player, which I've never seen one of these sites do...
If you want to goto the source...
It's at http://acousticspot.com/
and avoid musicgalore all together.

At 3:41 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

In response to 1:03 a.m. : I really didn't know that Musicgalore.net totally and completely ripped off another site like that! Even going so far as to jack their search engine, player and everything!!! Since that site is exactly the same as Musicgalore.net is, I again can't get any music to play from there either! And I'm still pretty positive that I have the right player to play them too. I will, however, go back and doublecheck once more just to make sure if the player is the right one, and if it's updated properly. Again, thanks for the info on Musicgalore.net as well as the link to the source site despite the fact that I can't get anything to play right from it : )

Okay, this is the poster at 3:41 a.m. again, I was looking up some info on that Java Player (I think it can be downloaded from this site, I think: http://www.javazoom.net/jlgui/jlgui.html) that you mentioned those sites are using and was wondering if I were to possibly download it on my computer if that would enable me to play the music at one or both of those sites? Believe me, I'd happily download it if I was sure it was the right player for the music at those sites! I have the other two that the guys who run Musicgalore.net told me I had to have, as I previously mentioned in past posts, I don't, however, have the Java Player one (obviously) and I can't help but think (or at least hope) that this is the one that those administrators at Musicgalore.net, and whoever it is that runs Acousticspot, are using to play their music on since it doesn't seem to be the shockwave player and the adobe flashplayer by themselves or together that makes them able to play the music. Of course it could just be that both sites are fucked up permanently I suppose ergo I shouldn't waste anymore time trying to figure out just what the hell is wrong with the music at those sites and why I can't get them to play! Again, to anyone who can play music at those sites without a single hitch I'd really love to be able to listen to some songs on there, so if you know of what player it is that you listen to the music on, if it's the above mentioned one or not, 'cause I'm running out of possible ways that I could get things to play right, could help me out as I'd be super, super appreciative if you could. Many thanks in advance : )

I get both musicgalor and acousticspot to work on my computer. It uses the player that pops up. Musicgalar has problems working every time.

At 10:55 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i've never had a problem with musicgalore at all. it's always worked for me in the past, and still works great now.

At 5:27 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

The guys who run that site seem to think that it's a firewall issue as to why the music at their site won't play properly for a large portion of it's visitors (myself included)! Though I don't know a ton about computers really, or firewalls for that matter, I am inclined to agree with them as I don't know what else it could be really. However, with that said I can't help but lament now how easy the older version of their site used to be and that I wish they could somehow bring that version back as they used the enormously simple Windows Media Player, a type of player that nearly everyone (regardless of their browser, ISP etc.) could have on their computers : ( Good for those *small few* (and you are in the minority here mind you) that can get it to work I suppose, it's just a damned shame more of us can't get it to work also. And to think I was actually looking forward to the return of that site, as it seems to be the absolute last free streaming site left other than acousticspot which I can't get to work right either *sigh*.

At 11:33 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

there is one site left... albumz.net

At 4:19 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hey, thanks for the link to that site "11:33 p.m."! It's not a bad one at all really : ) See, now that's the type of player (WMP I mean) that I wish musicgalore.net and acousticspot as well considering they have an even more excellent selection of music to choose from would get back to using cause that one works just fine for me and most everybody else too! Again thanks for the link to that site (I'm bookmarking it as I speak on my computer), and I thought there weren't any other free streaming music sites left on the net...that I could actually get to work on my computer that is ; )

I'll admit just like the rest of you I could not get musicgalore.net and acousticspot.com to work for the life of me. I tried every computer I went on from friends, library, to my colleges and even a few macs. Nothing Worked. But then I tried a very simple solution and upgraded to firefox 2 (Link found on MusicGalore.net) and suddenly all the songs started working on all of the computer I had tried previously. I suggest you guys go back to that musicgalore site and download their version of firefox and then try musicgalore and acoustic spot songs :-)

At 1:11 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

or...just goto http://acousticspot.com/
and skip musicgore altogether.

thats what I did.

At 4:39 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

someones alittle bitter about musicgalore huh? lol i go to mg because atleast they are more friendly with their visitors and interract with them

At 4:04 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Alright, I'm not trying to sound hatefull or bitchy or anything here with this post, but why should we have to change our browsers just to get some friggin' free streaming music to work?! I mean seriously, it's sad that that's what the free streaming music has come to now if you ask me! It just seems like too much of an undertaking to bother with it, and if you don't know much about computers like I do, then it's doubly difficult to do without worrying about screwing up the rest of your computer, losing some of your software and so forth! It's not that both Musicgalore.net and Acousticspot don't have excellent, excellent selections of music to choose from (and the free part is just the icing on the cake really), but again, I don't know if I really want to change my browser to something that I don't know enough about just to play some music!

At 10:21 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Answer to that is very simple

Firefox is better in every aspect then internet explorer and you should be using it anyway. Google it.

he was just offering a solution to musicgalore and a.s. not working. people bitch about the music not work so if u want the music to work then thats would you could do.

As far as it messing up your computer or deleting software, it doesnt do that..Its a webrowser..Not trying to be a dick but your post makes you sound completly retarted about computers, its not a virus or trojan, nothing will happen.

1. download firefox
2. installer opens (just keep clicking next)
3. Firefox is installed and icon on your desktop, click to use.

its really that easy

At 11:59 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Ok, I'll admit that I was a little bit offended at first by the above post (mostly the "retarded when it comes to computers" part...at least you added the "not trying to be a dick" part which is more than a lot of people would do, most would just have called me a nasty name and not gone to all the trouble to explain the how to's of downloading "Foxfire" and such, so I'm not too upset or anything : ) ), but I'm not going to deny the fact that I only know the bare-bones basics, and barely even that, about them so I apologize if I come off as sounding "retarded" where Computers are concerned. I may very well now look into downloading Firfox if it really is that easy, and not harmful to my PC. It certainly can't be any worse than IE is, I have a shitload of troubles trying to get it to work properly about 70% of the time! Anyhow, not only would I like to play the music at that site, but I'd also probably appreciate some of the other interesting, seemingly helpful stuff that I've read online that Firefox is purported to have and do for my computer. And I also read that I can have both IE and Firefox, am I right about this? In case I'm in some way dissatisfied (which I doubt will happen), or I can't get a page to open that isn't compatible (or whatever the right computer terminology is there) with Firefox then I can always uninstall or delete FF and go back to IE, again am I right about that? I'm only going by what I've read about it online in like the last three hours. Thanks be from me to anybody who can answer my questions : )

Well, I like both acousticspot and musicgalore.net as each not only works on my computer (actually one is a mirror site of the other to be honest), but they're also pretty good sources for free streaming music! However, at the moment I've noticed that both sites are having technical difficulties for some reason, I don't think it's just my computer either. Whenever I go to acousticspot there's this message that comes up:

"Fatal error: Call to undefined function: message_die()in /home/.japheth/doqrs/
acousticspot.com/includes/
sessions.php on line 82"

I really don't know what that means but again I'm pretty sure it's not my computer or browsers (I have both IE and Firefox) that's keeping the site from loading right. And with Musicgalore.net it's not that the site won't load right, it's just that when I go to look up an artist, album or song the search engine itself doesn't want to work properly because that site's main source of music acousticspot is down at the moment I'm assuming. The only reason I'm posting this here is to see if maybe others are having the same problem with the sites in the last day or so, and also in case the administrators of acousticspot read this maybe they could possibly get their site fixed as they don't seem to want to interact (I have no idea what their e-mail adress is 'cause they don't provide us with one) with their visitors at all at the moment. If they can get it fixed then hopefully both sites will be up and running again : )

For anybody who still reads these "comments" on occasion, please just ignore that last post (I was the one who typed it up yesterday September 1) as the site acousticspot and musicgalore.net has been fixed now thankfully much to the joy of myself and anyone else who appreciated that site and had found that it had suddenly just quit working right.

At 4:06 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well I hope some people are still reading these 'cause I have a similar issue as the previous poster. I have been using albumz.net since it was posted here and it has been working for me. My HD died, so I bought a new computer with Vista (stupid move on my part) and now when I go to the site, it asks for a user name and password (which wasn't there before). There is not way to set one up from the web page, but there is an email address. I have not gotten a response from my email. Anyone can explain why this site is password protected?

At 9:52 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

As an adenddum to my prevous post, albumz.net, when it was working for me, was better than acousticspot or musicgalore.net with regard to the aspect that it played their albums in stereo, not mono like acousticspot and musicgalore (at least for me). Now I need a password to get in.

At 7:05 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I can't figure out what you people are talking about,

albumz.net works great and its the only place I know of where you can play the whole album at one time, not one song at a time.

At 11:18 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I don't know if the guys from acousticspot or musicgalore.net read this, but if they do you guys should know that something seriously fucked up has happened to your sites! And since musicgalore made the unwise decision of mirroring their site off of acousticspot their site, like acousticspot, is fucked up now also! It seems that acousticspot (within the last twenty-four hours or so) has been replaced by something called tinyload.com, whatever the hell that is, and acousticspot is nowhere to be found at that address! Virtually the same thing has happened to the musicgalore.net search engine in that whenever you go to look up a song or artist absolutely nothing shows up! I don't know whats going on and I don't mean to rant or be hatefull here or whatever but it seems funny to me that both sites are working fine one day and the next *poof* their completey gone or totally screwed up. I'd love to know what's going on and or as I said if the administrators of those sites read this is there any way you could maybe fix whatever the problem is. Thanks : )

Yea I would assume that it might not be that they are linked together but that it would be that they are all linked off same payed site. They seem to be all linking off the same major payed site. So when the links change on the payed site so do theres and everything must be changed to the new onces. This is a very tedious task and could take months. Some of the sites also run into issues and they say they are down for good but all they do is move to a new domain, well that is after the months of fixing all the links and in most cases changing the layout.

At 11:46 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Albumz.net also stopped functioning.

At 8:50 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

nah, albumz.net still works fine for it's loyal members

At 10:56 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

For me at least there's usually a big icon or whatever it's called that says "enter" at the front of the site that allows me to access it easily, but right now that icon is absent from there for some unknown reason. I don't know how you're getting through to the site exactly at the moment, unless you've somehow sweet-talked the guy who runs it via e-mail into letting you in on another way to get into it that most vistors, even the loyal ones like myself (and yes I've also been going to the site for some time now and have had very little problems with it up until this point) don't know about.

At 1:00 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yeppers. Not sure how you are rated a loyal albumz.net user, but I have been using it for a long time and just recently it stopped. Maybe I am not a loyal user after all :>/

At 10:52 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

sheeesh with the attitudes...maybe you guys better off using Pandora

At 12:12 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Meh, Pandora's alright for what it is I guess (the sound quality is top-notch if nothing else), but frankly I'd prefer the other free music sites like Albumz.net, acousticspot, musicgalore.net etc. mainly because I can choose exactly what songs I want to listen to by some of my very favorite musicians/bands and I have the freedom to listen to them however many times I want to. Pandora, is unfortunately not quite like that. It's a radio service after all and one that is intended to introduce listeners to new music. And while I appreciate all the new artists that it has introduced me to I still tend to prefer the aforementioned freedom of listening to my favorite songs from some of my favorite mucisians over and over again when I so choose like what the other free music sites offered. I actually only went to Pandora as a free music backup when the old iD1G1T site went down a year or two back. So, no, I'm not better off with Pandora, which is why I hope the administrators of Albumz.net, musicgalore.net and acousticspot can sort things out and get the sites up and running again in the near future : )

At 12:42 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

well, albumz.net is workin fine.
I just requested a password and they sent me one right away
but if they see you grabbing a bunch of files or anything else like that, they will remove your login in a heart beat.
They are very protective of their site and I don't blame them.

At 12:34 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well, albumz.net just informed it listeners that it too is dying also. Free streaming seems to be a thing of the past.

At 8:19 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Well, I'm still gonna continue to hope they bring back acousticspot and musicgalore again someday because I had actually managed to get those sites to work finally once I downloaded Firefox. However, I ain't going to hold my breath or anything for it mind you. *Sigh* Anyhow, I still don't know what has happened with Albumz.net as there is no longer the "Enter" option at the front of the site nor is there even that thing that pops up asking for a security password either. So e-mailing the guy who runs it to ask for a password is really pointelss for me. I guess the guy just reached the end of his tether as it's said finally with people jacking his music or whatever and decided to make his free music available to only a small, small handfull of people. And, yes, in a way I also can't blame him for that. Though I personally was never one of those who did that. But yeah, it does seem like the free streaming music sites are gradually...hell, who am I kidding? They already are a thing of the past unfortunately enough just like the person above me said : (

For the post above: I can on albumz.net web page with my password and the following is the note that it carries:

ATTENTION!
11/20/2007
Bad News: it seems the source for the music is cleaning house,
deleting parts of albums (and maybe all of the music).
We don't know how far this will go but it may mean the end of this site.
We have spent years collecting our albums, as there is no other
source for streaming albums, it looks like this is the end.
11/24/2007
yep...they are dwindling fast.
11/25/2007
Who knows what the future will bring? ...but for now it doesn't look good.
We will keep the site up as long as some of the tunes play
it is a wait and see... but we are not hopeful.
