GnR's New Single

Remember when Guns N' Roses seemed poised to become the biggest rock band in history? Well, after hearing Axl's same-named ensemble's new single, it's fairly clear he needs to get the old band back together.

Yikes. Axl should just re-name this outfit Gawful N' Rwaste-of-time. But, still, you can check out the new I.R.S. demo here.

i'm so confused. at first i thought that song was some anti-government rant... but then it seems like he's threatening to bring the power of several different beauracracies down upon someone for not reciporocating his relationship wishes...

it's clearly over my head.

since your musical tastes seem pretty similar to mine, I am coming to NYC to visit some friends this weekend. Any good shows or something sweet to check out?

Allright, Brewer, just checked and there are a few things worth checking out perhaps (depending on just how much our tastes align). I'd suggest Googling these bands and seeing whether you'll be interested in going:

Friday 2/24:
Steve Kimock - Mexicali Blues (in NJ)
Grimace Federation - Knitting Factory
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Bowery Ballroom
Strangefolk - Coda (what year is this?!)

Saturday 2/25:
Steve Kimock - Mexicali
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Bowery
Strangefolk - Coda

Sunday 2/26:
Moistboyz - Knitting Factory

Also, f you get here Thurday night, MMW and the Disco Biscuits are each playing in NJ somewhere.

There are probably more shows, but this is what I could scrounge together in 30 seconds.

Big Ron and the Pillheads are opening for the Homosexual Crusaders on Sat night at Crobar. Doesn't get much better than that.

And Tying Latvia is opening up for Third Hand Smoke and Womb Raider at Tonic as well.
