PostSecret Plug

I love this site and plug it all the time...yet I don't own the book.

My birthday is at the end of June, in case you were wondering.

PostSecret has a book, too? Not that the site isn't genius, it totally is.

I hope it sells well. I have the same hope for Anonymous Lawyer, Maddox, Opinionista, Rob the Bouncer, and Mulgrew's, of course.

I don't want this blogger book bubble to burst.

At least not until I can cash in.

Yeah, D, the book's been out for a little while...and it's actually kind of ruined the site. The site now has less archives because they want people to buy the book. Buy the book, see the movie. Read it.

I'm also rooting got blogger books to succeed, but I feel like if I ever saw someone buy a book about some guy's job as a bouncer at a club, I'd have to kick them in the shins. With all the great literature, with all the other shit, how can you honestly walk into a bookstore and pick that one up. I'm sure he's a nice guy, and I wish him all the best, but think about the shinkicking when you go into buy that book. I will be there.

I have the PostSecret book. I think that, generally speaking, they didn't do a great job of choosing which post cards to put in the book. The website blends the sad with the sentimental with the funny pretty well. The book, to me, seemed more focussed on the sad ones.

I don't have the book either, although I've thumbed through it at the store. I love the site. Although it always leaves me with a strange feeling that's a mix of comfort and depression. I imagine I'm not the only one.
