It's Easy If You Try, Dick

Another off-the-charts incredible weekend in the books...

The last three days featured a little bit of everything, from the Wordplay movie premiere to all-day drunken debauchery in Astoria to Father's Day shennanigans to Bonnaroo webcasts to Lefty's choke to The NBA/NHL Finals to some classic Sunday HBO shows and much more. But before we get to Saturday's foolishness, check out this sweet video clip of Georgie Boosh singing Imagine.

Preview of Things to Come: I snapped many a pho-to watching fĂștbol up at the Bohemian Hall Beer Garden on Saturday, but this one is surely worthy of a Pulitzer. I call it, "Michael McDonald's Manboobs":

Ain't no Manzier high, ain't no Bro too low...

I like that Imagine, but not nearly as much as I liked the Bush/Blair "Endless Love" video from a few years ago...

Now that's comedy.

Dude! You were in my 'hood!

Mike from DWS was at the Beer Garden on Friday night and I was going to stop by, but I refuse to wait on a line to get in. Fuckin' NY hipsters like yourself, invading our turf...(grumble)

Nothing will bring a comment from Jason like the words "Michael McDonald"

Also, Jason didn't skip out Friday because he is a snobby Astoria resident who won't stand in line for the beer garden (that's why Jess didn't come out). JASON skipped because he was watching his brother's band rock Nassau County to its VERY CORE.

Here's what I like to call "Too Much Informatio".....

Everyday, around 10:00 am or so, I have my "time alone" in the men's room. For a solid 20 minutes, I do my business with three crossword puzzles: The Boston Globe, Boston Herald and USA Today. I am obsessed with crosswords and consider myslef to be pretty damn good at them. I had no idea they were making a movie about them. The geek in me wants to see that movie very badly. I got a book of NY Times Corsswords for Christmas, and Will Shortz has been driving me nuts every day since then. I want to hug and punch the guy at the same time.

Then definitely go see this flick, Matty. It's not only wildly entertaining, but it's got an ending that'll shake you to your core. Very well done, and it features great cameos by Jon Stewart, Slick Willie Clinton, The Indigo Girls and Ken Burns. There's also an Indigo version of Talking Heads' "This Must Be the Place," which is kinda painful, but that song is just awesome.

Invading your turf? Perhaps. Doing so by getting there at 8:45 am and literally opening the bar? Well, you gotta give us credit for that.

What band is this that's taking LI by storm? What kind of muzak?

I don't know for sure, but I bet it's this band

I believe I am sitting right behind the tree in tht picture. Were you there for the incredibly drunken overly affection Czech man? Because I was. Oh, how I was.

Bourbon, you're the second person to tell me you were sitting within 10 feet of me. Man, my Queens readership must be off the charts these days. They always loved me in Astoria!

Zeebs, wanna go see them this weekend? We are strong. No one can tell us we're wrong.
