Yes, Random Stranger, This Heat Wave *Is* Crazy

To all the people who insist on talking to me in the elevator or the office halls about the spell of hot weather we're having...

I hope you get the reference when I say: "Kinda hot in these rhinos."

Warm today. Warm yesterday too...

You know, I hope that heat goes away soon. I'm in NYC this weekend. I'd hate for this sweltering shit here in Chicago to follow me there.

Ace, let's hang out with Trix. Have you seen the boobs on her website...as well as her oft-cheery but sometimes world-weary take on the life of a single woman in the city of big shoulders?

Or is it broad shoulders? Or the Windy Apple?

I believe it's the Windy Apple.

I believe it's actually the city of baking apples.

So that's it, boys? You want to hang with me for "the boobs?" I guess I'm ok with that.

Oh, and I believe it's "Broad City."

Did any of you Slackers see that the glorious, wonderous organization known as Ticketmaster is trying to get back to "zero" on the Karma Scale by giving away FREE TICKETS to The Meters tomorrow night at Nokia. I'm fo' rell, yo. And it's the REAL Meters, too. Not a creepy white guy or random bandana-wearing elderly Japanese gent to be found on stage anywhere. Nothing beats the heat better than hearing "Cissy Strut" played by the dudes who wrote it, as opposed to the usual suspects of bands that play it. You know who I'm talking about: It's always billed at BB King's as Mother McFunkstein's Mountain Of Funkatopolis which is just Joe Russo, Jamie Shields (from The New Deal), Skerik, and Bill Summers (from The Headhunters), with Al Schneir sitting in.

Ha, I did see that...but thanks for the picking up the public service ball.

Free tickets to The Meters are cool, but a few of us are already locked in to NOMO at Joe's Pub tomorrow night -- and if you've got nothing to do, I'd come along and check that out. Gonne be "the heat" as the kidz say.

Trix, what you do in NYC? Far as I know, this city is badder than hot.

I'm in for Nomo tomoro.

Don,

As far as I know, I'll be doing a whole lotta drinking, and not much else. Care to join me?

Trix

Trix, this guy's married. I'm the single one. If the breasts are any indication, drinks are on me.

Don, you naughty boy.

Ace, be careful...I might just hold you to that offer.
